About AlkaPoint
AlkaPoint is a point-of-sale and business management system built for Kenyan businesses, operated by Omondi Peddy, trading as AlkaPoint.
Why AlkaPoint exists
AlkaPoint was built after watching too many small shops lose money they had already earned: to a stock count nobody trusted, and a credit book that was never quite right. The aim is narrow and honest. A shop should be able to see the truth about its money and its stock at any moment, without hiring someone to work it out.
What it does
Counter sales with cash, M-Pesa and card. Receipts printed or sent. Stock held by batch and sold oldest first, with repacking for goods sold by weight. Customer credit with part payments and a clear debtor list. Staff logins with permissions, across one or more branches. And an online shop on shop.alkapoint.co.ke that draws from the same stock as the till.
What it does not do
AlkaPoint is not an accounting package and does not file your returns for you. It does not hold patient or prescription records. It is not a payment provider: online payments run through Paystack and settle to your own account.
Who runs it
AlkaPoint is run by its founder, Sultan Alkantra, and operates in Kenya. You can reach the team at [email protected] for customer support or [email protected] for everything else.
